Cycladic Records is an independent electronic music label made for & by movement: [un]familiar places, sounds, people, landscapes, nightlife, and the process of transforming those experiences into records and art.
Cycladic culture developed across the Cyclades, the islands scattered throughout the Aegean Sea, during the early Bronze Age which began around 3200 BC. The culture is perhaps best known for its distinctive marble sculptures: minimal, abstract human forms carved from the white marble found throughout the islands.
Alongside sculpture, Cycladic communities developed traditions of seafaring, trade, agriculture, metalworking, and craft, connecting the islands with mainland Greece, Crete, and the wider Aegean world.
Thousands of years later, these objects remain strikingly modern in their simple forms shaped from natural material, reduced to their essential lines. Cycladic Records takes its name from this history and ideas carried across the seas.
